The Margot Corner
- margoterobbie.net -

Following up her encounter with Elle magazine, Margot sat down with The Cut to talk not only about Calvin Klein’s fragrance Deep Euphoria but also about her love for Harry Potter and character scents.

While Vanity Fair may find Margot Robbie “too fresh to be pegged,” she’s pretty willing to do it herself — at least when it comes to Harry Potter. “I manipulated the answers,” she said, when I ask the admitted Potter nerd (on Jimmy Kimmel, she showed a photo of herself at 13 with glasses, braces, and holding a cup of tea and a Harry Potter book), whether she’s ever taken a Sorting Hat quiz. During a press day from London as the new face of deep Euphoria Calvin Klein, I forgot to ask Robbie what her patronus would be, but I did find out where she thinks the Sorting Hat would place her, the weird smell Jared Leto thought the Joker would have, and her thoughts on not putting down other women.

Did you play a specific character in the deep Euphoria shoot?
That was the tricky part. With any kind of photo shoot or campaign, they want to see you be yourself, but what I do at work is to play someone else. Photo shoots are terrifying. Photographers are like, “Just show me you!” and I’m like, “Oh, me? I wouldn’t be doing this. I wouldn’t be sprawled out on a couch like this. I would be in a tracksuit.”

But Francis Lawrence, a film director, did the campaign, so it was so much easier for me to sit down with him and say, “Okay, so here’s the concept. This is where you are. This is what you’re thinking.” We’re blurring the lines between fantasy and reality so you can associate things with your own experiences and you can kind of fabricate the world you’re in at the same time.

What was your first scent memory?
I remember being a kid and seeing my mom’s perfumes lined up on the bathroom bench. I was definitely aware that only older women — grown-up women — wore perfume. I was so thrilled at the idea that I was going to be grown up and be able to wear perfume, too. Whenever I smell my mum, I feel like a little kid again.

Hello Margot fans! Our favorite Aussie is currently promoting Calvin Klein’s new frangrance Deep Euphoria as she is the face of the campaign as most of you already know. Recently she sat down with Elle, where she spoke about the advertising campaign and watched herself in the commercial. You may read the interview bellow (and under the cut).

“This is so weird,” says Margot Robbie. She’s at London’s Rosewood Hotel watching—trying to watch, anyway—her own commercial. It’s for Calvin Klein’s heady fragrance Deep Euphoria, and it’s kind of funny: one of those “Is this a dream?” plot lines with a neon purple rave and shirtless skater boys. (We’re not complaining.) “It’s cool, right?” Robbie giggles. “But seeing yourself on TV… it’s never not strange.”

What’s funny: If you’re not Margot Robbie, watching her onscreen is a pretty regular thing. From The Wolf of Wall Street to The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad, the Aussie actress has steadily crept into Hollywood’s A-List. She’s also become a fashion favorite, sporting Saint Laurent to the Oscars and Gucci on her latest press tour.

But do we really know anything about Margot Robbie? We weren’t sure, so we asked her some questions—weird ones, for real—to get some more information.

You’re famously hands-on with your projects. How involved were you in the Deep Euphoria ad? Did you cast the hot guys yourself?

I didn’t, but I was very happy with [Calvin Klein’s] choice. I was chatting with them at one point, and I could tell I was starting to flirt with them. I said to one of the guys, “What are you doing after this?” and he says, “Well, I’ve got to go back to school.” And I was like, “Oh, cool! College?” No. Not college. [High] school. I thought, “Oh. My. God. You’re 17 years old. I’m officially a cougar! I’m ‘The Older Woman!’ This has never happened to me before!”

Ah, your first Mrs. Robinson moment.

So many of my friends are older, and the people I work with are older. I guess I’ve gotten used to hearing people say, “Oh, you’re so young,” even though I never really agreed with that. Now I get their perspective. And it does feel bizarre, having someone in your work space who’s so much younger than you.

The Internet is both a wonderful and horrible place. A place where people go to share their love and also their hate. From time to time, we call out the haters by inviting well-known people to read some of the not so nice things that are written about them. We’ve done it again for our 10th edition of celebrities reading “Mean Tweets ” featuring Hugh Grant, Kate Hudson, Greg Kinnear, Melissa McCarthy, Chris Evans, Jane Lynch, Norman Reedus, Margot Robbie, Anthony Mackie, Judd Apatow, Olivia Wilde, Paul Rudd, Ryan Gosling, Zac Efron, Wanda Sykes, Russell Crowe, Bryan Cranston and Kiefer Sutherland.

Warner Bros. loves Margot Robbie. That is a fact as it has just been announced that Margot has signed a first-look deal with the studios to develop and produce feature movies through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner! For those of you who might be confused, LuckyChap Entertainment is a production company owned by Margot, Tom Ackerley, Josey Mcnamara and Sophia Kerr. You can check out our page dedicated to the production company for more information. The Hollywood Reporter was the one to break the news, and you can read their article bellow!

Margot Robbie is setting down roots at Warner Bros.

The Aussie actress is signing a first-look deal with the studio behind her summer Suicide Squad to develop and produce feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner.

Robbie, whose breakout performance came in Martin Scorsese’s Wolf of Wall Street, is only 26 years old but has quickly grasped control of her career in a way few actors, especially female actors, do, steadily wading into the world of producing.

She is in post on her first movie as a producer, the upcoming neo noir thriller Terminal. Robbie is also developing and producing a Tonya Harding biopic, I, Tonya, where she will play the disgraced figure skater, and developing an adaptation of Bad Monkeys, a novel by Matt Ruff with Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuberand Dylan Clark for Universal Pictures.

Warners has built a relationship with the actress, who has starred in Focus and The Legend of Tarzan for the studio before becoming one of the key factors why Suicide Squad grossed over $700 million worldwide.

The actress already has two projects set at Warners — a Suicide Squad spinoff for her character Harley Quinn (as well as other DC heroines) that she will executive produce, and an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen’s Queen of the Air, to which she is attached to star.

The first-look deal underlines Warners’ renewed focus on female-driven storytelling and comes after some notables moves from the Burbank-based studio.

It created the Warner Bros. Emerging Film Directors Workshop earlier this year as a program to increase female voices, among other under-represented sectors, and was spearheaded by the studio’s president, creative development and worldwide production Greg Silverman.

During the promotional tour for ‘Suicide Squad’, Margot has been repeatedly asked about her work out and diet programs. It seems people are very interested in finding out how she got in the shape needed to portray Harley QuinnFood4BetterHealth has today posted an article about just this, and I decided to post it here since it seems to be of big interest for very many! You can read it below.

Getting in shape to play Suicide Squad’s Harley Quinn required a lot of dedication on Margot Robbie’s part because she had to both look good in the bikini bottoms she pranced around in and in the stunts she had to perform.

The 26-year-old actress knew the role would require her to have a strong physique and that she would have to work out hard to get the right body. Margot Robbie’s workout routine consisted of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) as well as weight training.

She spent three weeks training hard for about three weeks a day while the movie was first being shot. Trainer Andie Hecker helped Robbie get into form through Pilates, ballet, and bulking cardio.

First up on the workout schedule was getting rid of traditional cardio machines and going for high-intensity interval training cardio circuits for an hour each time.

With a deep background in ballet, Hecker incorporated rebounders and balance balls into the Robbie’s workouts. The goal of the fast-paced workout is to constantly change things up, which taxes the body.

Some of the exercise Robbie did with Hecker in her cardio routine included: Trampoline and rebounder jumps, Leg rotations, Mountain climbers, Bosu ball hops, Double leg lifts, Outer thigh lifts. She would rest for a minute after each set and then repeat the set three to four times. The challenge to the body comes from going from one exercise to the next without stopping until the set is complete.

Along with these circuits, Robbie also does something called Ballet Bodies. The technique was developed by her trainer, who used to be a ballerina. Whenever Robbie is in Los Angeles, she makes sure to see Hecker for workouts. Robbie also loves to take dance classes when she can, and says they don’t feel like a workout at all.

Margot Robbie’s Diet
Robbie flat out says she hates to diet and she doesn’t really follow any particular diet regimen. She relies on exercise to keep her lean and in shape instead of limiting her food choices and depriving herself of the things she loves to eat.

However, like many stars, she does actively cut back on certain foods while filming a movie, but she has said that she gets miserable if she doesn’t eat. Eating a salad every day doesn’t work for her; neither does having just a half glass of red wine every other day.

One thing she won’t give up is the 10 cups of tea a day she has. Her favorite breakfast is avocado on toast with bacon. Clearly she eats what she wants and looks to burning off calories through hard physical workouts done regularly.

Suicide Squad has been in theaters since early August and is doing really well at the box office.
